Vespra Hills Golf Academy

Make this year the year you play better golf ⛳

Cody Kotva
Head Professional

My teaching philosophy is centered around the individual. I believe there are many effective ways to swing a golf club, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Every golfer moves differently, and my goal is to find the swing that works best for each player.

Drawing on my playing experience at the University of Charleston, along with my years of teaching, I specialize in developing efficient swing fundamentals, enhancing short game creativity, and improving on-course strategy.

I take great pride in seeing my students improve, gain confidence, and ultimately enjoy the game of golf more.

Stephanie Landers-Fenn
Director of Operations

Stephanie has enjoyed providing golf instruction to players of all levels over the years, from beginners to advanced golfers, juniors through to seniors. Her approach to the game focuses on building a strong foundation with a solid set-up, good balance, and a swing that works naturally toward the target.

Stephanie’s background in the game is extensive. She played competitively as a junior, was a member of the Canadian National Team as an amateur and attended university in the United States on a golf scholarship. She went on to compete professionally on the mini tours, gaining valuable experience at a high level of play.

With a deep understanding of both the physical and mental aspects of the game, Stephanie enjoys sharing her knowledge and experiences to help each player advance their skills and confidence. She believes that every golfer’s swing is unique, and her instruction reflects that individuality—helping each player develop a game that suits them best.

Her philosophy is simple: swing freely and play for the love of the game—one shot at a time, one hole at a time, one round at a time.

Sue Westwood
Teaching Professional

As a previous competitive tournament player, I love the game of golf. In fact, even more then playing, I love helping others improve their game so that they get more enjoyment (whether it be competitive or recreational) out of golf.

As a result of my years of coaching golf, I have learned that my students that are the happiest with the results are those that understand that golf is a sum of many moving parts. These parts include not only the swing, but also the limitations of each person's body and the way they think about their golf game.

As part of my coaching philosophy, our first session is focused not on immediate improvement but on understanding your current golfing style, which includes your swing, body movement, limitations, and your mental golf strategy. This first session includes an assessment of your course management and video analysis as a reference. We then determine your specific improvement goals which will be measurable, achievable, and rewarding.

Although the process is the same for each student, each program that is developed is specific for you and offering you the best opportunities for improvement.

If you are just looking for a golf teacher who will just make a couple little adjustments in your swing in one lesson, I am not the instructor for you. As all golfers know, the results of each day on the course can vary significantly. My goal is to help you reduce the variance of your game-to-game results.
